Mo Ali Joins The Team

Welcome to Team SKLZ, Mo! A former pro soccer player, content creator and trainer, Mo Ali is known around the globe. He travels worldwide to work with some of the best athletes and teams creating fun training sessions. Mo has always made innovative drills, and he'll use SKLZ gear to show you new ways to train.

Mo's passion for soccer is apparent in everything he does. He started playing when he was two in his grandfather's garage. "[My grandfather] was also a former pro player so he gave me a lot of passion," he says. "My grandfather and parents made me passionate [about soccer] because, growing up in Iran, everyone was playing soccer or watching soccer."

Originally from Iran, Mo's family moved to Canada when he was six, where he played for a former World Cup veteran coach who inspired Mo as a player. Mo's family then moved to Boston where he was recruited to play for Slovakia's FC ViOn Zlate Moravce. Unfortunately, an injury cut his professional career short. This led him to discover his other true passions: content creation and training professional athletes. These days, he trains players all over the world, but he's mainly located between Boston and Canada.

Mo's training knowledge extends beyond soccer. He trains players in all sports, including NBA and NFL players, and follows the latest methods to help his athletes succeed.

One of the things Mo loves is younger players' do-it-yourself training drills on TikTok and Instagram. "There's a big trends in sports fitness and training now. With platforms like TikTok and Instagram, you can see a lot of youth inspired to create their own training," Mo says. But Mo's content puts a new spin on all of this: everything he does is to help athletes  improve, and he does it all with creativity and flair.

Even though Mo spends a lot of time traveling and planning sessions for different players, he values the importance of training and continues to hone his own skills. "My training now is much different than when I was playing," he says. "But I try to get in two hours a day working on my ball skills and technical abilities."

He knows training is hard work, but he doesn't let this stop him. "It's important to have fun but also discipline," he says. "It's not easy to be a top athlete. It takes a lot of sacrifice and hard work."
